ANDROID WARS
Version 6.3
Manual

[So I'm big into acronyms, sue me!]
"The end of a new decade unfolds, and engaging androids
into war is quickly becoming the popular way of making
money. Humans have started purchasing androids, and then
programing, training, and fine-tuning them to fight against
other androids. These humans, known as Warlords are getting
very rich, although there are some that do not have what it
takes, and die along with their androids.
You are now to become a Warlord..."

INTRODUCTION:
There are several factors which will influence your success.
Health and Cash can mean the end of your life if you are not
careful.
*** = OPTION FOR REGISTERED FULL RELEASE OWNERS ONLY
The following is a summary of commands and descriptions of what
they do during the game.
SUMMARY OF COMMANDS:
{Y}our statistics - Will show you what your current status is
in the game. Your name, Health, Android Strength, Cash, Cash
in Bank, Androids, Planet, Planet crime rate, Planet
technology rating, and Planet market trading power are shown
to you.
{R}epair center - If you or your androids are in need of
medical assistance or repairs, this is the place to come to.
Both the doctors and repairmen alike have examination fees,
and will give you a price of their services. NOTE: The
planets crime rate, technology rating, and market trading
power all affect the prices for services throughout the game.
The doctor/repairman will ask if you would like full or
partial care. Full is always cheaper, but if you don't have
the Cash, partial is your only choice!
{E}nter market place - You are not allowed to go into the
arena without androids. The market place always has vendors
who are more than willing to do business with Warlords
looking to buy or sell androids. The average price of an
android is $10,000. Depending on the planet, that price
could be lower or higher. Selling is usually about half that.
{C}asino - The first number you enter is the NUMBER which
pays you your bet*2, the second is the LUCKY NUMBER which
pays you your bet*4 if you guess the right number. You can
get both by betting both on the same number, but your chances
at getting anything at all go down. As in real life, can be
very helpful and exciting, or can get you into a lot more
trouble than you had bargained for. Be very careful!
{B}ank - Whatever the crime rate may be, your money is always
safe in a bank. If for some reason someone were to rob you,
they would only be able to take some of the money that you
had with you. They do have a small banking fee for each deposit. ***
{H}otel - Used to help you recuperate. Some interesting
things can happen while you're at the Hotel. Just be sure to
Page 2
not stay more than a week or so at a time. Depending on the
planets crime rate you could be seriously hurt or killed. ***
{A}rena - You can enter here only once you have obtained at
least one android. Your main bulk of money will be made
here. You will be given the choice to choose what opponents
you go against three times, after those three you are forced to fight.
The stronger your opponent, the greater the reward money, and the more risk
you take.
{L}eave planet - If you need a change of scenery, try
traveling to another planet. There are 10 planets in the
galaxy, organized in a lunar format with each having it's own
government, and own markets of power. Depending on the money
you have, you can choose your type of transportation
accordingly. There are 5 different types of ships with
varying levels of speed, armor, weapons, and cost for
renting. ***
{Q}uit Android Wars - Exit back to the BBS.

SYSOP INFORMATION:
In the archive are the following files = ANDROID.DOC {The DOC file}
README.1ST {Version update info}
AWCONFIG.EXE {AWars config program}
AW.EXE {Android Wars}
AWREG.KEY {Registration file}
AWUSER.DAT {Made by AWCONFIG}
AWLOG.DAT {Made by Android Wars}
AWLOG.OLD {Made by Android Wars}
Requirements: DOORWAY to Unlimited Doors written by Marshall Dudley.
DOOR.SYS file.
ANSI.
The first step to installing Android wars is to copy all of these files to
your main \BBS directory or any other subdirectory.
Then make a batch file. In this example we'll say that all of the files
are in the \BBS directory:
CD \BBS
DOORWAY SYS /V:D /B:Z /G:ON /P:AW.EXE
If you put Android Wars in a subdirectory, such as \BBS\AWARS, then the
batch file might look like this:
CD \BBS\AWARS
COPY C:\BBS\DOOR.SYS
DOORWAY SYS /V:D /B:Z /G:ON /P:AW.EXE
Remember that if you are using a registered version of DOORWAY, you
can remove the time delays, along with DOORWAYS title screen by
adding the /O:T option.
NOTE: DOOR.SYS MUST BE IN THE SAME DIRECTORY AS ANDROID WARS, WHICH IS WHY
IT IS COPIED TO THE DIRECTORY C:\BBS\AWARS.
The next step is to run AWCONFIG, and set up the number of users to play
the game. The first time it makes the AWUSER.DAT file it will say a message
"File not found", this is normal for first time installation.
Always pick more than you think, sice you'll have new users.
If your AWUSERS.DAT ever becomes corrupted, run AWCONFIG again and the
AWUSERS.DAT will be re-initialized.
That's all! Now add the option to your BBS and you are finished.
